Velle, François

(July 22, 1961, Paris, France - )

   The son of actor Louis Velle and novelist and screenwriter Frédérique Hébrard, he entered films as an actor in productions in which his father starred (1972 La Demoiselle d'Avignon, 13 X 26' TV series, Michel Wyn; 1976 Un Mari, c'est un Mari, Serge Friedman; 1981 Adieu ma Chérie, TV movie, Serge Friedman).While he worked as a second assistant director (1983 Y a-t-il un Pirate sur l'Antenne?, Jean-Claude Roy; Salut la Puce, Richard Balducci; En Cas de Guerre mondiale, je file à l'Etranger, Jacques Ardouin; Education anglaise, Jean-Claude Roy) and first assist­ant director (1986 Félicien Grevêche, TV miniseries, Michel Wyn; 1988 La Valise en Carton / A mala de Cartào, 6 X 52', Michel Wyn, France / Portugal), he directed his first shorts. He collaborated as a co-screenwriter on TV miniseries (1993 Le Château des Oliviers, 8 X 85'; 1996 Les Allumettes suédoises, 3 X 103', Jacques Ertaud; 1997 Le Grand Batre, 9 X 100', Laurent Carcélès).
