Gallotte, Jean-François

(November 18, 1953, Paris, France - )

   Trained as an actor at the Cours Lecoq, with Antoine Vitez as teacher, he joined various theatrical groups (Le Théâtre imaginaire, La Compagnie de la Jacquerie, le Théâtre du Soleil) before directing his first short. In 1981, he was a pioneer of the "radios libres" (free radios) movement and co-founded Carbone 14, where he worked under the provocative pseudonym of David Grossexe (David Hugesex). He directed his first short in 1976. From 1986 (Iréna et les Ombres) to 2008 (Leur Morale et la nôtre, Florence Quentin), he played supporting roles in about 100 shorts, feature films, and TV movies.
