- The son of director Robert Enrico, he was a film enthusiast since his childhood and was trained on the job, being an amateur photographer and making a Super-8 75-minute feature film with two friends when he was only fourteen years old (L'Expérience). He made his professional debut at age twenty-one as an assistant director working several times with his father (1981 Clara et les chics Types, Jacques Monnet; 1986 Zone rouge, Robert Enrico; 1993 Vent d'Est, Robert Enrico, France / Switzerland, shot in 1991; Une Journée chez ma Mère, Dominique Cheminal; 1994 Prêt-à-porter / Ready to Wear, Robert Altman, USA).
