   A former assistant director (1965 Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, Or How I Flew from London to Paris in 25 Hours 11 Minutes / Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, Ken Annakin; UK; 1969 Ciné Girl, Francis Leroi; 1970 The Only Game in Town, George Stevens, USA, shot in 1968-1969; A nous Deux, France, Désiré Ecaré, France / Ivory Coast; 1971 Mary, Queen of Scots, Charles Jarrott, UK; 1975 Paulina s'en va, André Téchiné, shot in 1969), he also played in Le Coeur fou (Jean-Gabriel Albicocco, 1970) and co-wrote the screenplay, the adaptation, and the dialogue of Les Palmes de M. Schutz (Claude Pinoteau, 1997). In 1968, he co-founded with Pierre-Henri Deleau the Cannes Film Festival's Quinzaine des Réalisateurs (Directors' Fortnight).
