Couvelard, Michel

(1963, Boulogne-sur-Mer, Pas-de-Calais, France - )

   He settled in Paris with his parents at age seven. After attending drama courses, in 1981 he went to Montpellier, where he worked for the Centre Na­tional Dramatique. He returned to the French capital in 1984 and studied audiovisual and communications. Before directing his first movie, a short, he filmed a documentary and was an assistant director and pro­duction assistant on several motion pictures (1990 La Captive du Désert, Raymond Depardon; 1991 Bar des Rails, Cédric Kahn).
