A stage, TV, and film actor (about eighty movies from 1960 Chien de Pique, Yves Allégret, to Hideous Kinky / Marrakech Express, Gilles MacKinnon, UK / France), he notably co-starred in Il Gattopardo / Le Guépard / UK and USA: The Leopard (Luchino Visconti, Italy / France, 1963), Belle de Jour / Bella di giorno (Luis Bunuel, France / Italy, 1967), Benjamin ou Les Mémoires d'un Puceau / USA: The Diary of an Innocent Boy (Michel Deville, 1967), Partner (Bernardo Bertolucci, Italy, 1968), La Voie lactée / La via lattea / La via lactea / UK and USA: The Milky Way (Luis Bunuel, France / Italy / Spain, 1969), Porcile / Porcherie / UK: Pigsty / USA: Pigpen (Pier Paolo Pasolini, Italy / France), and Il conformista / Le Conformiste / UK and USA: The Conformist (Bernardo Bertolucci; Italy / France). From 1968 to 1989, he shot about ten experimental movies.
