Bourdieu, Emmanuel

(April 6, 1965, Paris, France - )

   The son of philosopher Pierre Bourdieu (l930-2002), he studied linguistics and philosophy and graduated from ENS before teaching at the University of Bor­deaux III and Paris VII. A stage director and playwright, he co-wrote several movies (l996 Comment je me suis disputé (ma Vie sexuelle) / USA: My Sex Life . . . or How I Got into an Argument, Arnaud Desplechin, shot in l994-l995; 2005 Esther Kahn, Arnaud Desplechin, France / UK, shot in l998-l999; Bronx-Barbès, Eliane de Latour; 2003 En jouant "Dans la Compagnie des Hommes", Arnaud Desplechin). Other credit (as actor): 2004 Le Pont des Arts (Eugène Green).
