Vaucorbeil, Max de

(November 22, 1901, Brussels, Belgium-April 12, 1982, Paris, France)

   After studying political science, he was a journalist before making his film debut as an assistant direc­tor (1928 La Danseuse Orchidée, Léonce Perret). He almost finished his career in the same way (he was an assistant director to Federico Fellini in 1953 for I Vitelloni / Les Inutiles / UK and USA: The Young and the Passionate, Federico Fellini, Italy / France). He also supervised Flagrant Délit (French-language ver­sion of Hanns Schwarz's Einbrecher, Georges Tréville; Germany) and played a supporting role in Le Grand Rendez-vous (Jean Dréville, 1950).
