Bernard-Aubert, Claude

(Claude Ogrel / May 26, 1930, Durtal, Maine-et-Loire, France - )

   He was reporter-cameraman for the French army's Cinematographic Service in Indochina during the war and stayed in the country as film press corre­spondent. His first movie, a disturbing exposure of violence in wartime inspired by his own experience in Asia, was censored. After working with such stars as Charles Aznavour and Jean Gabin, he began shoot­ing porn movies under the pseudonym of Burd Tran-baree (forty-six films from 1976 and 1983). He vainly tried to resume a more classical directing career in the mid-1980s.
