- (September 23, 1925, Cherbourg, Manche, France - )Knowing director Jacques Becker, he went to Paris with the desire to make movies. He started as a film critic, published articles in L'Ecran Français (1945-1953), and co-founded with Alexandre Astruc, André Bazin, Jacques Doniol-Valcroze, and Pierre Kast a new review, Objectif 49. In 1949, producer Pierre Braunberger hired him as a gagman for Le Trésor des Pieds-Nickelés (Marcel Aboulker).
