   He entered films as an actor and played in a few silent movies (1923 Le Petit Chose, André Hugon; 1924 Les Grands, Henri Fescourt; 1925 Comment j'ai tué mon Enfant, Alexandre Ryder; Jack, Robert Saidreau; 1931 Tout s'arrange, Henri Diamant-Berger) before work­ing behind the camera as an assistant director (1926 Yasmina, André Hugon) and finally director.
