- (January 10, 1951, Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France - )Having graduated with a bachelor's degree in philosophy, he had his first experience in films during his summer holidays as an actor (1972 Les Camisards, René Allio, shot in 1970). After completing his studies, he got in touch with René Allio, for whom he worked as an assistant set designer (1973 Rude Journée pour la Reine) and assistant director (1976 Moi, Pierre Rivière, ayant égorgé ma Mère, ma sœur et mon Frère). In 1978, he co-directed with Gérard Mordillat his first documentary.
