   Trained as an actor, he played in shorts (1983 1929, Laurent Bénégui; Le Perroquet des Iles, Jean-Luc Gaget; 1984 Trois Balcons pour Juliette, Frédéric Demont; 1986 Grand Khalife dans la Quatrième, also co-screenwriter, Rémi Laurent), feature-length films (1987 Lévy et Goliath, Gérard Oury; 1988 Bonjour l'An­goisse, Pierre Tchernia; 1999 Chili con carne, Thomas Gilou), TV films (1986 Un Moment d'Inattention, Liliane de Kermadec), and TV series (1988 La Valise en Carton / A mala de Cartào (6 X 52', Michel Wyn, France / Portugal; L'Affaire Saint-Romans, Michel Wyn). He shot his first amateur Super-8 picture at age twenty.
