   He made his film debut as an actor after writing a letter to director André Téchiné, who hired him to perform one of the main characters in Les Roseaux sauvages / UK: The Wild Reeds / USA: Wild Reeds (1994). Parallel with his directing work, he played a few supporting roles in films (1995 Le plus bel Âge . . ., Didier Haudepin; 1998 Zonzon, Laurent Bouhnik; 2001 Loin / Lejos, André Téchiné, France / Spain; 2007 Les Chansons d'Amour / USA: Love Songs, Christophe Honoré).
