Lamorisse, Albert
(January 13, 1922, Paris, France-June 2, 1970, Karadj, Iran)
   A former photographer, he studied at the IDHEC before directing in Tunisia his first documentary short (Crin blanc / UK: Wild Stallion / USA: White Mane) and Le Ballon rouge / UK and USA: The Red Balloon. The former earned him the Cannes Festival Grand Prize, and the latter received a Hollywood Academy Award. He was killed in a helicopter crash while shooting a documentary near Tehran, Iran.
