   He successively was an assistant director (1944 L'Ange de la Nuit, André Berthomieu; 1950 Ils ont Vingt Ans, René Delacroix), screenwriter (1947 L'Homme de la nuit, as co-screenwriter, co-adapter, co-dialogist, René Jayet; 1948 Triple Enquête, as adapter, Claude Orval, shot in 1946; 1949 Piège à Hommes, as screenwriter, Jean Loubignac), and production manager (1949 Ma Tante d'Honfleur) before directing short and feature films.
