Jacquet, Luc: (December 5, l967, Bourg-en-Bresse, Ain, France - )

   He studied ethology and graduated with a master's degree in animal biology from the University of Lyon in l99l. Two years later, he earned a diploma in management of the natural mountain environment. At age twenty-four, he went to Antarctica with a scientific expedition and Swiss director Hans-Ulrich Schlumpf, with whom he collaborated as a cameraman on the documentary Der Kongress der Pinguins / Le Congrès des Pingouins (France / Switzerland). While making his directing debut, he was a still cinematographer and assistant director to J. P. Macchioni for the following documentary shorts: l995 Le Triton et la Salamandre; Renard, Blaireau et Compagnie; l996 Les Chamois; Les Hirondelles; Les Lézards; Monsieur Cincle. In 2006, he received the Best Documentary Film Academy Award for La Marche de l'Empereur. Other credit (as cinematographer only): 2005 Ultima Thulé (documentary, Hans-Ulrich Schlumpf; Switzerland / France).
