- (Tristan Jean Manchette / October 30, 1962, France - )The son of novelist and screenwriter Jean-Patrick Manchette (1942-1995), he started working in 1980 for such counterculture magazines as Métal Hurlant (original French version of Heavy Metal), Actuel, and The Face. In 1982, with future director Christophe Gans, he created the film monthly Starfix and acted as his first editor in chief. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, while pursuing his TV career, he held several editorial jobs in major French publishing houses, wrote books for teenagers, and translated crime novels by the likes of Elmore Leonard and Donald Westlake.
