Hanoun, Marcel

Hanoun, Marcel
(October 26, 1929, Tunis, Tunisia - )
Having settled in France after that country's liberation, he studied aeronautical techniques and general mechanics and attended André Vigneau's dramatic art courses at the C.E.R.T. (Centre d'Etudes de Radio Télévision). Then he worked as a journalist and photographer while shooting his first amateur films. He shunned established rules and dedicated himself to experimental cinema. In 1969, he created the review Cinéthique. Also an occasional cinematographer (1963 Operacion II, documentary, short, Néstor Basterretxea, Spain), he appeared in a few movies (1972 Le Journal dun Suicidé, Stanislav Stanojevic; 1982 She's a Very Nice Lady, Gérard Courant; 1986 He Stands in the Desert Counting the Seconds of His Life, archive footage, Jonas Mekas, USA; 2001 Le Journal de Joseph M., Gérard Courant).
