Azimi, Iradj

(October I, 1941, Chiraz, Iran-)

   He left Iran in 1960 and spent two years in London before moving to Paris, where he took French civili­zation (history of art) courses (1963-1965). He stud­ied directing and production at IDHEC (1966-1968). An opponent of the Iranian government, he stayed in France and filmed a short first. He had to wait five years before shooting a feature film.
